The McKenzie Method is a system for assessing and treating the back, neck, and extremities.

Developed by a New Zealand physiotherapist, The McKenzie Method works to improve mobility, function and pain for individuals with musculoskeletal spinal and extremity disorders.

A key focus of The McKenzie Method is patient empowerment. The McKenzie Method emphasizes patient education and self management tools (via posture, positioning, and repeated movements) to enable patients to better manage or eliminate their own pain.

This can also be a great option for patients that have not responded well to hands on treatments.
