Every bit of movement in your day adds up!

It can be easy to have an “All or Nothing” mentality when it comes to exercise. This mentality can be intimidating and quite often result in choosing to do nothing.

Instead, the rebrand is: “Something over Nothing.”

You don’t have to spend hours or days at the gym to be physically active.

Movement is movement.

If lifting weights, or hours of cardio aren’t your style, that’s okay because there are so many other options. Pick something you like and give it try.

Fresh Air and Nature Time!

Remember, you don’t have to start with committing large chunks of time to your physical activity routine.

Start small.

One day a week at Aquacise is better than nothing at all. A ten-minute walk on your lunch break is better than staying seated. A game of pickleball on the weekend is better than hours on the couch.

Momentum begets momentum!

Activity Ideas:

  • Walking- outside or indoors

  • Dancing - in your living room, taking classes, at a wedding.

  • Recreation League Sports – Pickleball, Soccer, Volleyball, Racquetball, Hockey, Golf, etc.

  • Classes- Yoga, Pilates, Group Fitness, Personal Training

  • Water activities- Swimming, Kayaking, Aquacise – a great, low impact, physical activity option.

  • Body weight exercises – you don’t have to have an intricate routine or an arsenal of gym equipment. Think something as simple as a few body weight squats and a handful of push ups off the counter during a break in your day.

  • Skating – iceskating, rollerskating

  • Cross-country skiing – a half hour of this works the entire body and lets you enjoy the fresh winter air.

  • Biking - for your work commute, or just for a bit of fresh air.

  • Stretching – Pick a few stretches to do in the morning while you wait for your coffee to brew, or while you watch tv at night.

Simply put, physical activity can be enjoyable and doesn't need to be overwhelming. Find what works for you and your lifestyle. See where you can fit movement into your day!
